‘Encounters with nature’, a participative performance by Margret Wibmer simulates the natural cycle of day and night in Natlab’s theater space with neither stage nor seating but invites the public as actors. Enveloped by a soundscape written for this performance by composer Robert van Heumen, visitors are invited to share their thoughts regarding nature and the nonreciprocal effects caused by human activity. The garments designed by Margret Wibmer are worn and exchanged between visitors, functioning as collective vessel. A narrative is produced in and outside the theatre space as visitors and stage assistants come and go, interact and change roles.
