A conversation between writer and researcher Anastasia Nefedova and artist Margret Wibmer. Published in NERO on April 30th, 2026.

‘Photography as Fabric: Performing the Invisible’ is an interview that grew out of a conversation between Anastasia Nefedova and Margret Wibmer on the occasion of Margret Wibmer’s newly opened show of selected works at the Hoxton, Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam. This interview touches upon her practice within discussions of performativity, body politics, and image-making. While Margret Wibmer works across photography, textiles, and participatory performance, the interview focuses on her photography practice and on how she challenges the ways body agency is represented and performed within social environments through the objects we relate to and the spaces we inhabit.
